Jess “Gift Fox” Math
Def. of Jess math – Incorrect (yet endearing!) mathematical answers to seemingly simple math problems
I am in the thick of cutting & piecing my wild geese quilt, which means there is a lot of measuring. Measuring = numbers = math = Jess math.
Using this wonderful flying geese tutorial, I spent yesterday cutting all necessary fabrics to piece together today. (I also created a beautiful checked scarf for Tilly Willicus.)
Re-visiting the tutorial website this morning, I understood that some serious Jess math had occurred. I thought the second quick-piecing technique resulted in two geese. Nope. It results in four geese. This means that I have cut enough fabric to create two queen-size quilts!
So, fraternal twin sister quilts it will be.
(Oh! And did I mention that the band I’m in — Being — recorded a mini-album at Sonelab Studios in Easthampton, MA this week?! 9 songs recorded in 3 days! Now that’s some dizzying math!)
I have to say–Tillie looks a wee bit uncertain about her fabulous new scarf. How awesome that you cut out not one, but TWO quilts!! Can’t wait to hear your music. xxx mm
Tilly looks quite stylish in her scarf. She is quite the model. Quilting is like a virus. It is sneaky and it takes over. Don’t feel bad about your math skills, more fabrics, more quilts, is what it is all about. Welcome to the wabi sabi world of a quilter! Mom
